Some reading before you open an account: “Essential information for savers”.

*A regulated savings account marketed by BNP Paribas Fortis SA/NV under Belgian law, Montagne du Parc 3, B-1000 Brussels – Brussels Register of Companies – VAT BE 0403.199.702.

The Traditional Savings account is a product of indefinite duration.

Interest rates

A basic interest rate of 0,01% gross annually is calculated per day.

A loyalty premium of 0,10% gross annually is calculated on every deposit that remains on the account for 12 months consecutively without interruption, and is guaranteed during the (entire) acquisition period.

The base rate and the loyalty premium are subject to fluctuations depending on market conditions or any changes to legally authorized limits.

No bad surprises.
If the base rate and/or loyalty premium is modified, you’ll be kept informed by a notice included with your bank statements.
This way, you’re always informed and ready to go.

Money always available

When you’ve got money (whatever the amount) you deposit it in your account. You know it’s there, cool. And if you want to splurge or respond to a need you’re never short, you just transfer the amount you want to your Hello Current Account.

Fiscal advantages

You don’t pay taxes on interests up to €1.880 (in 2017). For married couples or cohabitants that open a joint savings account, it’s double the fun, €3.760. If interest exceeds €1.880 you only pay a 15% tax on the additional amount.

Risk for the saver

In case of bankruptcy or risk of bankruptcy of the concerned financial institution, the saver risks to lose his savings or he can be submitted to a diminishment/conversion in stocks (Bail-in) of the claim the saver has on the financial institution, for the amount that exceeds the saving deposit guarantee of €100.000.
