Obviously, you are the main actor of your Internet usage. Make sure that the device you use to make your transactions is safe. Use the Hello bank! app or Easy Banking Web securely and stay on the lookout for suspicious requests or signals.
1. Make sure that your device is safe
Always install the latest upgrades for your mobile phone or computer’s operating system. Continually use the latest version of your navigator (Safari, Explorer, etc.).
Don’t give viruses a chance:
- Use a regularly-updated, adapted anti-virus software.
- Only make online purchases from renowned and reliable retailers; don’t surf on sites or networks distributing or sharing illegal software, music, films...
- Using Wi-Fi? Secure your connection with a WPA2 key. In the event that your device is lost or stolen, immediately request your SIM card to be blocked. We advise against completing bank transactions via non-secure locations or networks.
- Define an automatic key guard lock in the event that your device remains inactive for a few seconds and a PIN code to unlock it afterwards.
- Never leave your device unattended.
2. Using your card reader

3. Use the Hello bank! Application securely
Only download the iOS and Android apps from official download sites:
- App Store (iOS)
- Google Play Store (Android)
Make sure that BNP Paribas Fortis is the author of the application. You can access the app using the Easy Banking Code you configured during the installation process.
Access the app by combining your Easy Banking Code and the device recognition:
- The first time you login to the new application using the card reader, the app registers the characteristics of your smartphone or tablet. Afterwards, each time you login, you can simply identify yourself via the Easy Banking Code that you selected when you created your access to the app. The app then combines the code control and device characteristics.
- Your Easy Banking Code is extremely important. Never write it down anywhere and don’t give it out to anyone, ever.
- Always close your session in the app safely using the “log out” button.
Accessing the Hello bank! Application using the card reader:
- Your debit card is personal. Don’t let anyone else use it.
- Do not write your debit card PIN code anywhere, ever. Don’t ever give it out to anyone.
- Only use the red button of your card reader (signature M1) to login to the Hello bank! application, never the blue button (signature M2). You will use the blue button to electronically sign a transaction or a contract, and to modify/sign an online purchase with your card.
- Only enter your PIN code with the card reader. Hello bank! Will never ask you for the PIN code of your debit card. Not by phone, not by email, and not on our Internet site.
- Never respond to a telephone or email request aiming at generating an electronic signature with your card reader.
- Always close your session in the app safely using the “log out” button.
4. Surf safely on Easy Banking Web.
Make sure that you really are on the Hello bank! website.
- Check that the address is “https://www.bnpparibasfortis.be/en/public/logon”.
- If you add the Internet site to your browser’s “favourites”, exclusively use this short cut to launch the website.
