Here at Hello bank! we protect our app and website as much as possible. We keep our finger on the pulse where security is concerned and share tips with you so that you can protect your banking as much as possible.

It goes without saying that you can also contribute to your own security online. Make sure that the device you use for your banking is safe, use the app or website in a secure manner and keep an eye out for signs of suspicious activity.

1. Make sure your device is safe

Regularly update the operating system and the browser of your mobile device or computer.
Moreover, observe all (security) updates from operating system (iOS, Android etc…) and always use the latest browser version (Mobile Safari, Internet Explorer Mobile, etc..).

No chance for viruses:

  • Use regular (adapted and updated) antivirus program.
  • Buy only from sites of known and trusted providers. Do not surf to sites or networks with illegal software, music, movies,...
  • Do you use WiFi? Secure your connection preferably with WPA2. If your phone is lost or stolen immediately block your SIM card.We suggest that you do not use unsecured networks or internet cafes to access online banking Provide an automatic key lock when your phone is idle for a few seconds and use a PIN to unlock the keypad.

2. Use the app hello bank! safely

Download the app for iOS and Android exclusively through authorized stores:

You get access to the app Hello bank! with a password or code reader that you create.

Safe access to the app Hello bank! using your device password and device recognition:

  • The first time you use the app, you must sign in with an SMS code or card reader. The data from your smartphone and tablet are automatically registered. From then on, you only have to log in and enter the password you chose and created when you first accessed the app. The app will then check every combination of password and with the data stored in the device.
  • The password you chose when activating the app Hello bank! is personal and very important. Give it to no one.
  • Always close your secure session with the 'Unsubscribe' button.

3. Use our website safely

Ensure that you are actually using our website:

  • Check whether the address starts with ''.
  • If you add the website to your browser favourites, please use only this shortcut afterwards.

When using the card reader, pay attention to the following:

  • Your bank card is personal. Never let anyone else use it.
  • Do not write your PIN down anywhere, nor pass it onto anyone else.
  • Only use the red button on the card reader (M1 signature) when logging on, never the blue button (M2 signature). The blue button is used to digitally sign a transaction or contract, as well as change or sign an online purchase with your card.
  • Only enter your PIN using the card reader. Hello bank! will never ask for your PIN: not by phone, by e-mail and not even on our website.
  • Never respond to a telephone or e-mail request to perform a digital signature with your card reader.
  • Always close your banking session by clicking on the 'Log off' button.

4. Suspicious signs when using app or website

Be careful when something unusual and unexpected happens. For example:

  • An unexpected idle screen appears.
  • If you are invited to log in supposedly for "security  reasons" a second time, or to confirm your signature with M2 (blue button), any additional login. 
  • A screen that is not in the typical language of your session appears.
  • The app program does not respond. You have the sneaking suspicion that something is not quite right.
  • You are asked for confidential information through an unusual channel.

Noticed anything suspicious?

  • Close your session immediately.
  • Report the problem to the single Hello team on 02 433 41 45 (Monday to Friday, from 7am to 10pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm).
  • Never report a problem to a number or e-mail in the suspicious message.
